File Formats: The resources are provided in the following file formats.
  • Scores (.pdf) are piano scores with melody, words, and guitar chords. These can be read and printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. (NOTE: Under Mac OS 10.3, "Preview" does not render some of these scores but Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher does. Preview for OS 10.4 and higher renders them correctly also.)
  • Melody-only Scores are melody-and-lyric-only versions formatted to fit on a 5.5" x 8.5" half-page bulletin insert or handout.
  • Lyrics (.txt) are plain ASCII text files - open with browser or text editor.
  • MIDI (.mid) can be played back with Windows Media Player or Quicktime or can be loaded into synthesizers.
  • MP3 can be played back with Media Player, Quicktime, or MP3 players.
  • PowerPoint (.ppt) lyric slide shows in a plain format for use "as is", or customize as desired.
Additional "source" files included for archival purposes may also be seen in these directories but these are not of importance for "end users."
The Recordings: only four of these songs include audio tracks recorded and mixed in a real studio (for our
"Shelter on The Way" CD, available from CD Baby ). Those four (flagged with an S )also include a lead-vocal-removed "trax"-type version here. It is my hope to see most of the rest of these songs also produced and recorded in the studio and finished at a professional level, but at the moment, all the other recordings found here are from two less-sterling sources:
  • Recorded straight to CD from the mixing board in Faith Lutheran's worship services. These are marked by plenty of "real-life" artifacts like mistaken words, uneven mixes, miscues and missed notes.
  • Demo recordings I did at home with live or MIDI-assisted accompaniment and no overdubs.
Because I put a premium on the value of hearing an actual performance of a song I've swallowed my pride and used recordings with many serious flaws and mistakes. I hope these succeed in communicating the main idea of each song and arrangement.

IN ADDITION: A number of these songs (flagged with an A ) have also been released on a live album recorded directly from worship services at Faith Lutheran, Lincoln Nebraska. Besides being a handy way to share many of the tracks found here, a l i v e o n e also raises funds to defray expenses incurred when the son of one of our singers battled cancer recently. Buy it at CD Baby.

More To Come: This collection is not static, it is a work in progress. I hope to post more of these as they are developed and written and, as mentioned above,to include better recordings. In addition, we have a number of other current arrangements for which documents are not complete, or which we are not presently free to share due to copyright considerations. As additional material is made available it should appear here. Again, because of trademark issues, future recordings and releases may appear under a different band name or title. - Paul Marxhausen

Last Update: 8 June 2007

The band name "One Accord" is trademarked in the United States by a musician in St. Charles, MO who also provides the Write About Jesus songwriting resources. The praise band at Faith Lutheran, Lincoln is currently still using the name with his gracious permission, but future recordings and resources probably will not use it.
