Comments: This is a very popular hymn for robust singing by everyone. I like what the altered time signature and harmonization does to add interest to this hymn, but it is not as easy to do the "natural" four-part hymn-style harmonizing many Lutherans grew up doing with when jazzier chords are used to update these songs.
