You Were Prepared © 2007 Paul Marxhausen Through a crowd a thousand people strong I was wandering one day no one heard my spirit's weary song everyone hurried on their way I could see in every passing face signs of burdens like I bear "give me shelter, help me find a place somebody strong enough to share" You were prepared for me you watch the world with Jesus' eyes you were prepared for me to see my pain and not despise it I'm amazed what Jesus raises people up to be and long before my lonely prayer you were prepared for me I've lost track of all the miles and years that have brought me to this day now my future's shrouded in my tears all of my strength has slipped away strange to think that when I cried out loud someone heard me long before lifted up one person from that crowd ready to open mercy's door You were prepared for me trained to be a Savior's hands you were prepared for me heart to heart and understanding now I know that long ago God looked ahead to see and long before my lonely prayer you were prepared for me When our stories finally are told every secret word every hidden deed all the glory more than earth can hold rise unto the Lord faithful in our need Saints and angels Supermen or such some of us hope will save the day but our hearts desire a human touch bringing the answer when we pray God Almighty condescends to use something as humble as your soul share these burdens walk in weary shoes speaking the words to make me whole You were prepared for me this is why He called you here You were prepared for me unafraid to dry these tears Now I find how God designed this mighty work to be and long before my lonely prayer you were prepared for me and long before my lonely prayer you were prepared for me
