service songs new and renewed

This is a collection of hymn arrangements , new worship songs , liturgical music,, and offerings I developed for worship at Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. These songs and all their supporting materials are being made available free of charge for use in worship under the Free Praise License (read it here.) See below for an explanation of the resources, and for information on recordings.

Lyric videos of this material are being steadily posted on my "LitanyTube" YouTube channel

I've stopped thinking in terms of "albums" or CDs and am concentrating putting new material out on YouTube, with the print and audio track resources posted on this website. - Paul Marxhausen updated 15 April 2025

RECORDINGS

Some of this material has been released on CDs that are no longer currently available in physical format, unless you stop by my house and I'll dig some out of the back of my garage. These include the album "Shelter on the Way" recorded by the praise team "One Accord" at Faith Lutheran Lincoln, and an album of live-in-worship tracks titled "a l i v e o n e". Advent/Christmas tracks were published as a fundraising CD for Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska . Those are in the garage too, but just send a donation to LFS directly and download the songs for free here.

The quality of the tracks found here is VERY mixed. Some were recorded live in worship from Faith's sound board. Most were recorded in my home office to wildly varying levels of production quality. (Some are a combination, live tracks with additional parts added later.)

File Formats: The resources are provided in the following file formats.
  • Scores (.pdf) are piano scores with melody, words, and guitar chords.
  • Melody-only Scores are melody-and-lyric-only versions formatted to fit on a 5.5" x 8.5" half-page bulletin insert or handout.
  • Lyrics (.txt) are plain ASCII text files - open with browser or text editor.
  • MIDI (.mid) can be played back with Windows Media Player or Quicktime or can be loaded into synthesizers.
  • MP3 can be played back with Media Player, Quicktime, or MP3 players.
  • PowerPoint (.ppt) lyric slide shows in a plain format for use "as is", or customize as desired.
Additional "source" files included for archival purposes may also be seen in these directories but these are not of importance for "end users."

More To Come: This collection is a work in progress. I am writing and recording new songs and arrangements and updating the resources for existing ones. - Paul Marxhausen

Last Update: 21 May 2023

The band name "One Accord" is trademarked in the United States by a musician in St. Charles, MO who also provides the Write About Jesus songwriting resources. The praise band at Faith Lutheran, Lincoln is currently still using the name with his gracious permission, but future recordings and resources probably will not use it.
